Construction notes
The cardigan is worked back and forth in one piece to underarms. Here work is divided into fronts and back and each part is then worked separately.
The sleeves are worked top down and stitches for the sleeves are picked up and knitted along armhole.
The back has a bottom edge that is narrower than the rest. After the first twenty-three rows increases are made and after that the rest of the back can be worked in the same pattern as on fronts and sleeves. This edge prevents the back from gaping at the bottom.
