Tsutsu Bear Workshop / 25th Sept + 2nd Oct

When: 25th Sept + 2nd Oct 2025, 1pm - 3.30pm both days.

Tickets are $90 per person - this includes 2 days tuition, a printed pattern and starter kit, as well as cake and tea/coffee.

Spend 2 sessions with Angela learning how to knit the gorgeous Tsutsu bear by Cinthia Vallet! Tsutsu is a sweet little bear knit in one piece, totally seamlessly, from the tip of his nose to the tip of his toes. 

Ange has knitted many of the gorgeous little Cinthia Vallet friends you may have seen inhabiting the shelves at Calico & Ivy - she is a very experienced, talented and generous knitter - you will be in good hands. Spots are limited to ensure everyone will get adequate assistance.

Experience level - Experience of small circumference knitting on the round (magic loop) is required - this workshop is designed to get you comfortable specifically with knitting a Cinthia Vallet toy. If you can knit a sock or a sleeve you will be fine!

The Tsutsu pattern also includes instructions for knitted sweaters and beanies - Angela will happily give advice for these but it is likely that the focus of the workshop is on the bears themselves.

Starter Kit + Pattern
We will provide a printed copy of the pattern and a starter kit to get you going! This includes 1x 25g ball of Jamiesons of Shetland Spindrift(you can pick your colour on the day!), 1 pair of teeny safety eyes, black floss for embroidering the features and polyfill for stuffing.

You will also need:
+ 2 sets of 2mm circular needles (minimum 60cm cables)
+ lockable stitch markers / bulb pins (in at least 2 colours)
+ tapestry/sewing needle for nose
+ Snips or scissors

Location
The class will be held Calico & Ivy in Swanbourne - just a hop skip and a jump from the Swanbourne Train Station, or you can find car parking behind our shop.
