The Big Bear Mosaic Embroidery Workshop (Flat design)

Friday 24th - 1pm-4pm (3 hours)

Learn how Tomomi Mimura creates her beautiful mosaic embroidery designs on a large scale!

In this workshop you will begin embroidering onto an A4-size linen fabric printed with Tomomi's own bear design. After embroidering, the piece can be turned into a cushion, tote bag, or anything you like.

This workshop fee includes a kit curated by Tomomi especially for this project. We will have embroidery hoops available to borrow for the class, or you can purchase your own from us.

We also provide tea/coffee and light refreshments, and we will have a lovely translator with us for the class also.

Location
The class will be held Calico & Ivy in Claremont - just a hop skip and a jump from the Swanbourne Train Station, or you can find car parking behind our shop.

About Tomomi
Tomomi Mimura is from the southern island of Okinawa and currently lives near Tokyo. She is an artist and a creator of mosaic darning-embroidery. Tomomi uses her colourful technique to create gorgeous and fun animal characters - charming and inspiring creators around the world! You can see her work on her instagram page @mimstermade and we have her Tiny Friends book available in store. Our staff and customers have all been SO inspired by her amazing stitching and can not wait to have Tomomi visit us!
