We have all fallen in love with the beautiful Tiny Friends of Tomomi Mimura! Her whimsical stuffed toys are made using mosaic embroidery, a technique Tonomi has developed based on simple darning stitches - which is perfect for using even the tiniest bits of leftover yarn.
Now we have created the perfect kit to get you well on your way to creating your first adorable tiny friend.
Each Tiny Friends Starter Kit includes:
- Linen base fabric
- 8 x hand dyed mini spools (Hedgehog Fibres or similar 4ply)
- Nurge Embroidery hoop
- Sohmo Tapestry Needles
You will also need scissors or snips and a fabric marker.
Optional: Needle threader, thimble.
This kit does not include a pattern - the Tiny Friends book can be purchased seperately, here. This popular book includes illustrations and step-by-step instructions for 13 of Tomomis beautiful animal characters.
Yarn required for your tiny friend will depend on the complexity and size of the friend you are making - you may wish to supplement with yarn from your stash.
