"Pattern is a big part of all my work, as is colour, and I use both to find contrasts and cohesion in a painting. After initially exploring different media and print making techniques I discovered a way of working with fabric collage and mixed media which gives my work a mix of texture and depth. I like to use patterns from the fabric  collage alongside mixed media which helps to deconstruct the detail whilst keeping an element of form and structure."
