We have made this handy little yarn guide of our largest yarn ranges in store - Sandnes Garn, Filcolana, Knitting for Olive and Isager.  It is intended to help you when picking or comparing yarns for a project - please feel free to print a copy and keep it on hand/add your own notes and yarn combination gauges.

Our GAUGE KEY is generalised and based on typical Australian yarn weights, our experience is that some yarns can fall between 2 categories(eg Filcolana Peruvian is between DK and Worsted, Isager Jensen is between Sports Weight and DK) so please always refer to stitches per CM for the most accurate gauge if subsituting yarns. 

Gauge will also depend on factors like your tension and needles, knitting flat or in the round, Continental or English style - we always recommend knitting a test swatch when starting a new project.

Where a yarn is listed as a 'companion yarn' it is intended to be knit held alongside another yarn, so the gauge will depend on the project and other yarn you are using.
