Baby Quilt with Crochet Trim / 2 day workshop

Day 1 - Tuesday 9th September - All day (10am-4pm)
Day 2 - Tuesday 14th October - Morning (9am-12pm)

Price: $160pp includes 2 days tuition, sweet treat and tea/coffee.
Participants will need to purchase a pattern and fabrics seperately from Calico & Ivy - we will be making up special kits + bundles for this project before the class! Plenty will be available to choose from on the day.

This is a wonderful project for beginners who want to learn the steps to making simple gorgeous quilts - stitching the quilt itself will have you covering skills like cutting, machine piecing and quilting, while the crochet edge is a very special and achievable finishing touch. All it takes is 3 crochet stitches to create a gorgeous scolloped trim - Jemima will have you mastering it in no time!

Class 1 - 
In the first full day workshop Jemima will take you through cutting and machine piecing your quilt top, as well as demonstrating how to layer your top with the wadding and backing to create your quilt. Jemima will then show you how to attach binding fabric. Homework will be to finish up making and binding your quilt ready to add the crochet trim in the next class!

Class 2 -
In the 2nd morning workshop Jemima will take you through the steps of attaching + crocheting the scallops around your quilt for a beautiful finish.

Finished Baby quilt size - 32in x 36½in (80cm x 93cm)

Class Requirements
(Day 1)
+ Crochet Trim Quilt Pattern by Tied With a Ribbon 
+ Fabric Kit or fabrics for quilt top as outlined on pattern
+ 25cm fabric for binding
+ 1m x 1.15m batting
+ 1.25m x 1.1m Backing Fabric
+ Sewing Machine and thread
+ Rotary cutter, mat and ruler
+ General sewing supplies (pins, snips etc)

(Day 2)
+ 2ply cotton yarn - 50g
+ 2.75mm Crochet Hook
+ Knitters needle
+ Snips/scissors
and your work so far!

*Basic crochet knowledge is advised for this workshop - ie knowing how to chain and double crochet - if you purchase a ticket to this class you are welcome to one free session of our Wednesday Morning Crochet classes to learn or these stitches (or brush up!) prior to the 2nd part of the workshop with Jemima.*
